Shenhe realistically only focuses on two stats: enough Energy Recharge to burst every rotation and then ATK% to maximize her Icy Quills. CRIT Rate as always has value if using Favonius Lance.

How much Energy Recharge Shenhe needs to cast the Burst every rotation, by team and by weapon. Where a target is out of reach, the advice beside it says what to do instead.

Shenhe talent priority

  1. #1

    Skill

    Max first

  2. #2

    Burst

    Then

Both her Elemental Skill and Burst are important for team buffing so investment in both is necessary. For exact priority, her Skill’s levels provide a greater increase to team damage comparatively to her Burst, especially when considering Escoffier’s gigantic RES Shred.

Shenhe rotation

Shenhe’s gameplay loop is straightforward: she uses her Elemental Skill followed by her Burst, and then swaps out of the field. The nuance comes from the optimal Skill variant to use, which depends heavily on her partnered Cryo DPS. Skirk, for instance, will generally prefer the Hold variant as she primarily uses Normal Attacks to deal damage.

There is then a unique case with Ayaka, as she can benefit from more than the 5/7 Quills that Shenhe provides. Because her burst continues dealing damage whilst off-field, Ayaka can swap back to Shenhe to cast a second Skill and even more total Quills.
