Building ER on Varesa is optional and depends on the player’s artifacts, but as a general rule of thumb can be recommended as long as her requirements are within 20%.
How much Energy Recharge Varesa needs to cast the Burst every rotation, by team and by weapon. Where a target is out of reach, the advice beside it says what to do instead.
| Team | 2 Special Burst Per Rotation (Average) | Burst As Available |
|---|---|---|
| With Iansan | ~130-140% | 100% |
| With Fischl/Ororon | ~110-120% | 100% |
| Solo Electro | Not Recommended | 100% |

Varesa’s Plunging Attacks are her primary source of damage and scale off of her Normal Attacks, giving it priority. That being said, her Burst’s damage is also valuable and should also be levelled concurrently.
Either repeat the above with her other Skill charge, rotate through supports again, or extend field time through using her standard Charged and Plunging Attack.
The charge based nature of Varesa’s Skill affords her a lot of flexibility in her rotations, as she can use them in quick succession or separate their uses to match her team or combat situation.

The manual Charge and Plunge Attack in the first part of the rotation is optional, and can especially be better to skip if fitting 3 special Bursts in.

Vivid Notions tops the weapon ranking for Varesa, at 119.70% relative damage at R1 in the DPS - Team column, ahead of Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, Kagura's Verity and Crane's Echoing Call. That order is prydwen.gg's, measured in play and rephrased here; every row of it sits under Weapons below.

The strongest team is Varesa, Mavuika, Chevreuse and Iansan, built around Varesa: Overload.
Varesa's abilities multiply ATK. That is read from the scaling rows on the Elemental Skill and Burst, not from the ability description, so it reflects what the game actually multiplies rather than what the text mentions.
Vivid Notions is the closest fit on the data: it is a 5-star catalyst with CRIT DMG as its ascension stat, and its passive acts on ATK. Royal Grimoire is the best 4-star alternative.
