Crystal-Tree Grotto Chests: All 8 Luxurious and Precious Chest Locations in Genshin Impact 7.2

The Crystal-Tree Grotto holds 8 Luxurious and Precious Chests in Genshin Impact 7.2: 3 Luxurious Chests (three Seelies, six Eye of Graeae texts, a Shrine of Depths) and 5 Precious Chests (two Luminous Lamp Crystal puzzles, a Kristallflies incense, a shadow zone and a 60-second Ice Ring challenge). WoW Quests’ thumbnail counts them as “All 8/8 Luxurious & Precious”, and the video’s chapters follow the same split.

The table follows the video’s order. Each chapter starts from a teleport waypoint, so the timestamps double as a route: teleport, solve, move on. Common and Exquisite Chests picked up on the way are not counted. The rewards column lists what the pop-up showed on screen; where a line had scrolled away before the frame, it is left out rather than guessed.

The Crystal-Tree Grotto is an underground cavern in Novokitezhgrad, Snezhnaya, added with Genshin Impact 7.2 on 4 November 2026; on the map it is a walled basin with the pink crystal tree marked on its left-hand side. The teleport waypoint inside it is labelled “Crystal-Tree Grotto, Snezhnaya” in the waypoint panel at 3:20.

The video starts with the grotto already unlocked, so it does not show the way in. Game8’s area guide places the unlock at the third part of the world quest The Crystal City in the Gorge’s Depths, “Awake and Sing, Ye Sleepers in the Dust”, and Game Rant describes the waterway route from the Teplo Oasis. Both are linked in the sources. Mitya, 7.2’s new 5-star, has an exploration passive that breaks the crystal walls of the new area, as our 7.2 livestream recap explains; nothing in this run needs it.

One number to keep an eye on: the Novokitezhgrad exploration counter at the bottom right of the map. It reads 26% at 3:20 and 34% at 12:45, so the grotto alone is worth a good share of the area’s total.

Five of the eight chests depend on the Luminous Lamp Crystal, a Prime Ice Construct you place from the construct bar at the top right of the screen. It shows up in the first minute, when Paimon notices that the Seelie is chasing Kristallflies and the lamp crystal is built in the middle of the path to call them away.

The construct bar holds five constructs in this run; the lamp crystal and a Refraction Mechanism are the two the chests use. Building costs Prime Ice Resource, which the grotto hands out in small amounts (the run picks up 5 and 25 at a time), and removing a construct refunds part of it: the pop-up at 4:50 shows “Refund: 15”. When you run short, the game removes an older construct for you, with the message “The corresponding Prime Ice Construct has been removed to complete the creation” at 5:40.

The lamp crystal has three uses in the grotto. It sits on lamp pedestals to power a beam (Precious Chest 2). It draws Kristallflies away from the first Seelie (Luxurious Chest 1) and lures the white ones (Precious Chests 3 and 6). And next to the six wall carvings it unlocks the Investigate prompt that reads each Eye of Graeae text (Luxurious Chest 2). The prompt pairs are always the same: “Install the lamp crystal” and “Put back the lamp crystal” at a pedestal, “Take the lamp crystal” once it is placed.

The first Luxurious Chest appears once three Seelies have been led back to their stone statues on the hill in the middle of the grotto; the chest spawns on the slope just below them. The video gives each Seelie its own chapter, 1.1 to 1.3, and starts each one from a waypoint.

Seelie 1 is the awkward one. It flies off after a swarm of Kristallflies instead of leading you, and the fix is the lamp crystal: place it, the flies gather on it, and the Seelie goes back to its route across the meadow. From there it is a long follow along the water to the statues. Game Rant’s write-up of the same puzzle adds that relogging also resets a stuck Seelie.

Seelies 2 and 3 are plain follows. Seelie 2 starts from the waypoint WoW Quests teleports to at 1:20, and its route passes a small chest worth 2 Primogems. Seelie 3 starts from the waypoint at 2:10. Once the third statue lights, the Luxurious Chest appears among the purple bushes below the statues.

The first two Precious Chests sit in the ruined streets reached from the waypoint WoW Quests uses at 3:20: one at the end of a lamp-pedestal and beam puzzle, the other led to by white Kristallflies you lure with the lamp crystal. The chapter (2-3 and 4.1) also covers the first Eye of Graeae text, which sits on the same street.

Glide down from the waypoint to the plaza. Paimon’s line at 3:40 sets the scene: “There are so many cracked black crystals here.” A lamp pedestal on the edge of the plaza takes the lamp crystal (“Install the lamp crystal”) and sends a beam of light across the square.

Here the game unlocks a second construct, the Refraction Mechanism (“Reproducible object blueprint detected” at 4:05), which bends the beam. A level 100 enemy turns up while you set it, so clear it first. The chest is by a pink crystal mound tucked into a doorway, and pays out 10 Primogems and 1,442 Mora, the largest single Mora stack in the run.

Precious Chest 3 is in the meadow below the plaza. Kristallflies hide in the bushes there, and at 5:45 Paimon notices that none of them are white (“Hmm… but no white ones, huh?”). Searching the bushes sets off a few monsters first. The white swarm appears at the crystal trees by the stairs.

Paimon spells it out: “Quick, use the lamp crystal to lure them over here.” Place the lamp crystal, let the white flies settle, then follow them back across the grass. They lead to a Precious Chest by the stream.

The second Luxurious Chest opens when you have read all six Eye of Graeae texts: carvings on walls around the grotto that only show an Investigate prompt with a Luminous Lamp Crystal placed next to them. WoW Quests numbers them 4.1 to 4.6 and opens the chest in 4.7, inside the shrine on the central island. Game8 counts the same six “secret scripts” and ties them to the achievement No Secrets Left in Shadow; that achievement is not on screen in this run.

Text 1 is on the plaza from the previous chapter. Put the lamp crystal down by the carved wall, take the Investigate prompt, and the Eye of Graeae speaks.

The six texts read as one story, and they are worth reading rather than skipping. Text 1: “The core of the tree’s heart shines bright, its body refracting light into the firmament. All in paradise is bright, destroying the black crystal that corrodes.” Text 2, in the lower cave reached through the Underground Tributary on the map: “The origin of our bloodline, the relic of the Golden Realm […]. We cannot discard it. We must safeguard it here.” Paimon’s reaction to it: “Scale-shard of the crystallized dragon’s corpse… Do they mean that strange big crystal?”

Text 3 is in the ruined buildings reached from the waypoint labelled “Novokitezhgrad, Snezhnaya” (8:10). Reading it completed the achievement “A Crack Rings Through the Kristall” for WoW Quests, the only achievement pop-up in the video.

Texts 4 to 6 are quicker. Text 4 is on a stone wall near the waypoint used at 9:15; text 5 is reached from the waypoint at 9:50, with 25 Prime Ice Resource picked up on the way; text 6 is in the town ruins reached from the waypoint at 10:20. The screens for these three are the same pattern: wall carving, lamp crystal, Investigate.

With all six read, go to the small shrine on the central island (the chapter starts from the map at 10:55). Paimon notices the change at the door: “Huh. The patterns here have all lit up… Looks like we can go in and have a look.”

Inside is the Luxurious Chest and a book, An Ancient Survivor’s Journal, which ties the texts together. Its writer lived through “the pitch-black crystal tides” beside the crystal tree, and names their people: “We are the people of Hyperborea, the Golden City!” It also names the threat, “a black Kristall-Blight that swallows everything”.

The third Luxurious Chest is behind a Shrine of Depths next to the crystal tree, as the minimap shows, and it needs one Snezhnaya Shrine of Depths Key. The chapter is twenty seconds long: teleport, walk up the steps, use the key, open the door.

The prompt asks for a Snezhnaya key, so keys from other regions do not work here. The video cuts as the door opens, so the chest’s contents are not on screen. The video also does not say where the key came from, and this page will not guess: check your inventory before travelling, and if it is empty, leave this chest for last.

Precious Chest 6 comes from a second Kristallflies puzzle on an open meadow of the grotto, from the waypoint at 11:55: take the lamp crystal that is already there, carry it to the Kristallflies, and they lead you to the chest. WoW Quests’ chapter title calls it the “Kristallflies puzzle incense”.

The walk is short. A few Snowborn enemies get in the way (their drops show at 12:30), and the chest is in the open grass.

Precious Chest 7 is inside the shadow zone, the purple area at the top of the grotto on the map; you can only reach it in the shadow zone’s own form, which swaps your party for a single character with an aiming mode and two ranged weapons. The HP bar drops to 3,000 while you are in it.

Inside, the HUD changes: “Switch to aiming mode” on the right, two weapon slots with ammunition counts (91 and 190 at the start). A Common Chest sits on the way in. Keep going down the stairs and along the terrace.

The Precious Chest is in the open at the end of the terrace, next to a fallen stone cube. Nothing guards it in this run. A few steps on, back in the normal party, WoW Quests also opens a chest that gives Chimeric Cores and a Symbiotic Chimeric Nucleus, under the message “Entity has timed out and disappeared”; the chapter title counts only the Precious Chest.

The last Precious Chest is a time-trial challenge at the grotto’s exit towards Novokitezhgrad: touch the challenge pillar, then pass through 15 Ice Rings in 60 seconds. WoW Quests flies it with Xianyun, whose long glides and plunges carry most of the run’s traversal, from the cliffs at 0:15 to the rings at the end.

The route runs downhill over the rooftops and canals, and there is time to spare: the counter reads 6 of 15 with 43 seconds left at 16:05. Some rings sit low over the water under the town’s arches. The chest appears on the plaza where the last ring ends, with “Challenge Completed” across the screen.

That completes the set. The party that does it all is Flins, Columbina, Ineffa and Xianyun, but nothing in the grotto asks for a particular element or character: the puzzles run on the lamp crystal and on following things, and the fights are short.
