Vesna Weapon Ranking and Stat Targets: Every Weapon Ranked, and How Much ATK and CRIT She Needs
Zy0x’s complete Vesna guide, uploaded on 9 October 2026, ends its weapon chapter on a team damage chart made by MeowTews that ranks fifteen swords for the 7.1 Stellar Swirl carry. The same video gives his numbers for Energy Recharge, explains why 2,000 ATK is the only ATK figure that matters, and is honest about the stats he gives no number for. This page sets out that ranking, checks every weapon against the game’s own text, compares it with the weapon table on our [Vesna build page](/characters/vesna), and answers the stat questions one by one. Artifacts, talents and materials stay on the build page; teams are on the [best Vesna teams](/best-teams/vesna) page.

The weapon chapter, the stat advice, the showcase and the opinions credited to Zy0x on this page come from his Vesna guide of 9 October 2026; the weapon ranking chart in it is by MeowTews.
TL;DR
- Best weapon: Beyond the Chrysalis (118%), then Whitelake Frostfeather (114%).
- New Bough R5 (106%) beats every other 5-star on the chart.
- Best F2P weapon: Emberwell R5 (95%).
- ATK: 2,000 caps her Stellar Swirl passive. ER: 120% to 145%, by team.
- No CRIT Rate or EM target: CRIT Rate overcaps easily, EM sits under ATK%.
Vesna weapon ranking: every sword ranked by team damage
Vesna’s best weapon is her signature, Beyond the Chrysalis, at 118% team damage on the ranking MeowTews made for Zy0x’s guide, ahead of Odette’s Whitelake Frostfeather at 114% and a refinement 5 New Bough at 106%; Emberwell R5, at 95%, is the best free-to-play sword. The chart comes up at 20:40, under the line “Huge thanks to MeowTews for the ranking!”, and Zy0x credits her again in the video description.

Read the small print before the bars. The chart measures team damage, not Vesna’s own, with Scarlet Proof on her and Faruzan, Odette and Vodyanitsa beside her, and it is stamped 7.1. Zy0x adds two warnings: the exact gains “vary heavily from team to team and depending on the assumptions”, and if you only care about Vesna’s personal damage, the gap between the top weapons and the rest is wider than the chart shows. The chart does not say which weapon is its 100% line. Three swords sit on it (Haran Geppaku Futsu, New Bough R1 and Mistsplitter Reforged), so the safest reading is the order and the distance between rows.
The last column of the table redoes the sums against Emberwell R5, the sword most players will actually own: each chart value divided by 95. The chart rounds to whole percents, so treat that column as accurate to about half a point.

How the ranking compares with the Vesna build page
The two rankings agree on the order at the top: Beyond the Chrysalis, Whitelake Frostfeather, then New Bough R5. The weapon table on our Vesna build page, imported from prydwen.gg, also measures team damage with Vodyanitsa and already counts Emberwell R5 as 100%. There, Beyond the Chrysalis is 124.72%; MeowTews’ chart converts to 124.2%. New Bough R5 is 110.04% against 111.6%.

The one real gap is Whitelake Frostfeather: 116.84% on the build page, 120.0% once the chart is converted. The middle of the field shuffles by a point or two: the build page has Heretic’s Molten Blade R5 (103.62%) under Azurelight (104.90%), where the chart puts them level. The build page also lists two swords the chart leaves out, Light of Foliar Incision at 105.39% and Silver Light R5 at 97.78%, and the chart has three the build page does not rank: Mistsplitter Reforged, Exaiphanes Blade and Kagotsurube Isshin. Both end up saying the same thing. Two 5-stars stand clear, a refined New Bough is third, and every decent CRIT sword after that sits within a few percent of the next.
Best weapon for Vesna: Beyond the Chrysalis
Beyond the Chrysalis is the best weapon for Vesna: 674 base ATK, 44.1% CRIT DMG, and a passive that cycles CRIT DMG, Stellar Swirl damage and Energy every time she uses her Skill or Burst. Zy0x calls it “a pretty good signature” that will typically be “close to a 20% team damage increase if you’re upgrading from a free-to-play weapon”.

The passive, Dance of Wings Unbound, hands out three effects in sequence, one per Skill or Burst: Winds of Devotion (CRIT DMG +48% for 10 s at R1), Winds of Defiance (Stellar Swirl DMG +28% for 10 s) and Winds of Plenty (3 Energy). Vesna uses her Skill once and the special Windborne Sword five times in a rotation, so the cycle comes round more than once. One correction, politely: Zy0x reads the passive as “another 56” CRIT DMG and 36% Stellar Swirl damage. The game text gives 48% and 28% at R1, rising to 104% and 56% at R5, so his figures match no single refinement. The ranking itself is unaffected; it was run on the weapon, not on the narration.
Is it worth pulling for? Zy0x’s answer is yes for vertical investment, but not a must, because “there are some great alternative swords”. He also puts it a little above her first Constellation, which he values at 10% to 15% damage, “unless you already have something like Odette’s signature”. The 7.1 phase 1 banners that carried it closed on 13 October 2026, so for now this is a choice for whoever already pulled it, until a rerun.
Whitelake Frostfeather and the other 5-star swords for Vesna
Whitelake Frostfeather, Odette’s signature, is Vesna’s second-best weapon at 114% on the chart; Zy0x says it is “not that far behind” her own, because it also gives her Energy and a lot of stats. It is a 674 ATK sword with 22.1% CRIT Rate. Its passive stacks ATK +8% three times on Skill hits, and at three stacks raises the CRIT DMG of what the game text calls Stellar Glimmer reaction damage by 50% and restores 4 Energy, once every 3.5 s.

After those two, Zy0x lumps the rest of the 5-stars together as stat sticks: “any good five-star sword leveled up” works, as long as it carries CRIT. He names Jade Cutter, Light of Foliar Incision, Absolution, Azurelight and Haran Geppaku Futsu, and shows Mistsplitter Reforged and Uraku Misugiri on screen as well. On the chart they land between 100% and 103%, a few points above Emberwell, which is his point: the best of them beat the free sword, the worst are “a lot closer”.

His one warning is CRIT Rate. Vesna already gets plenty of it (see how much CRIT Rate she needs), so a CRIT Rate sword can push her past 100% and waste stats. Primordial Jade Cutter carries 44.1% CRIT Rate, the most of any sword here; the build page’s weapon table notes that it “overcaps after 5 CRIT Rate substats”.
Exaiphanes Blade is the odd one out. It has good stats, 608 ATK and 33.1% CRIT Rate, but its passive only works “when the Traveler equips this”, so on Vesna it is a plain stat stick. That is why the chart gives it the same 99% at every refinement, and why Zy0x says it is better used on the Cryo Traveler.

Best F2P weapon for Vesna: Emberwell
The best free-to-play weapon for Vesna is Emberwell at refinement 5, 95% on the chart; Zy0x calls it “a solid baseline” you can get and refine for free. It is a 4-star sword with 510 base ATK and 165.4 Elemental Mastery at level 90. At R5, any reaction gives ATK +32% for 12 s, and a Stellar Glimmer reaction adds 32% to that reaction’s damage, both working off-field.

Zy0x’s summary of its place: “pretty comparable to the worst of the crit five stars, typically just a bit worse”. The chart agrees, with Exaiphanes Blade four points above it. The EM substat is weaker for her than ATK would be, but still useful (see how much EM she needs).
Two more free options exist, and Zy0x ranks both below Emberwell. Silver Light, the 7.1 event sword, is “a bit worse” and does more on Odette; the build page has it at 97.78% of Emberwell. Finale of the Deep, 94% on the chart, needs a healer in the team to use its Bond of Life effect.
Then there are two 4-stars that cost something. Heretic’s Molten Blade is the battle pass sword: similar to Emberwell at R1 and a little better refined, 102% at R5. Zy0x’s advice: “not worth choosing it five times out of the battle pass just for her”, and mind the CRIT Rate, since it carries 27.6% of it.

New Bough is the surprise of the list. The 4-star sword from the 7.1 weapon banner has 55.1% CRIT DMG at level 90, and Zy0x says that at R5 it beats “basically all” the 5-star stat sticks except the two signatures. The chart puts it third, at 106%. At R1 it is already 100%, slightly above Emberwell. Because it only came on the same weapon banner as Beyond the Chrysalis, Zy0x does not tell anyone to chase it; it is a bonus for those who already have copies.

Vesna stat targets at a glance
Zy0x gives two hard numbers for Vesna’s stats, 2,000 ATK and an Energy Recharge range of about 120% to 145%; for CRIT Rate and Elemental Mastery he gives none, and explains why. The table sets each answer next to where it comes from. Each stat has its own section below.
| Stat | Target | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| ATK | 2,000 | Stellar Jubilee passive caps at 14% base Stellar Swirl DMG (0.7% per 100 ATK) |
| CRIT Rate | No number; avoid going over 100% | 24.2% at level 90, +16% from Scarlet Proof, +15% from Cryo Resonance |
| CRIT DMG | No number; CRIT DMG circlet by default | Zy0x, 15:28 |
| Energy Recharge | About 120% to 145%, by team; build it only if under about 130% | Zy0x, 14:42; Burst costs 60 Energy |
| Elemental Mastery | No number; a substat below ATK% | Zy0x, 13:57; Truth Prevails passive |
How much ATK does Vesna need? 2,000
Vesna needs 2,000 ATK: that is where her Stellar Jubilee: Splendid Prelude passive stops adding Stellar Swirl damage, and Zy0x calls it “very easy to get”. His own C0 Vesna shows 2,690 ATK on her attributes screen.

The arithmetic is short. The passive raises the party’s base Stellar Swirl damage by 0.7% for every 100 ATK Vesna has, up to 14%. 14 divided by 0.7 is 20, and 20 times 100 is 2,000. It is a party-wide bonus, so it helps the Stellar Swirls her teammates trigger as well as her own.
Past 2,000, ATK still raises her own hits, so it does not become useless. It just stops being the first thing to chase. Zy0x ranks CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate first among substats, then ATK%, and puts ATK% on the sands and the goblet. Her other passive helps: Truth Prevails gives her 6% ATK for every Cryo or Anemo party member, and her usual teams have three.

How much CRIT Rate does Vesna need?
Zy0x gives no CRIT Rate target for Vesna. His advice runs the other way: she gets so much CRIT Rate for free that a CRIT DMG circlet is usually right, and too much CRIT Rate is the bigger risk. He admits his own showcase build has “too much crit rate”.
Three sources stack before any weapon or substat. Her level 90 CRIT Rate, ascension included, is 24.2%. The Scarlet Proof 4-piece adds 16% for 10 s after a Stellar Swirl, which she triggers all the time. Cryo Resonance, Shattering Ice, adds 15% against enemies that are Frozen or affected by Cryo, and Zy0x’s team shows it active.

Add them up: 24.2 + 16 + 15 = 55.2% before the weapon and before a single substat. That leaves 44.8 points of room under 100%. Primordial Jade Cutter’s 44.1% would fill almost all of it alone, which is why the CRIT Rate swords rank lower on the chart than their raw stats suggest.
So the practical answer is to aim for the CRIT DMG circlet, take CRIT Rate substats as they come, and only use a CRIT Rate circlet if your weapon and team leave you short. Zy0x: “a lot of the times you may be already high on crit rate so you can go for a crit damage circlet, but if you need more crit rate it is a fine circlet as well.” He gives no CRIT DMG number either.

How much Energy Recharge does Vesna need?
Vesna needs about 120% Energy Recharge to Burst every rotation with C6 Faruzan, a Favonius weapon and her signature, and about 140% to 145% without them, according to Zy0x; below roughly 130%, building 15% to 20% ER is worth it, and above that he says to Burst whenever it is ready instead.

The Burst costs 60 Energy. It deals good damage, gives a stack of Sword Essence for one more special Skill, and adds a stack of her damage passive, so it is worth using. But Zy0x says plainly that it is “not worth sacrificing a bunch of offensive stats” for. Most of her damage comes from her level 3 Windborne Sword.
His fix is timing, not stats. The Burst can go anywhere inside her Skill state, as long as it lands before the last special Skill, so you fire it when it is up, every rotation or every other one. Early is better, after the level 1 and level 2 Skills, so its passive stack boosts the level 3 hits.

The on-screen note and the voice-over differ slightly. The note says 120 to 140 and “10-20%”; Zy0x says 120 to “140 or 145” and 15% to 20%. Either way the rule is the same: chase ER only if your team needs under about 130%. The build page’s stat note draws the same line at 130% and suggests Bursting every other rotation above it. Things that lower your need: a C6 Faruzan, a Favonius weapon on a teammate, and Beyond the Chrysalis or Whitelake Frostfeather, which both give Energy.
How much Elemental Mastery does Vesna need?
Zy0x sets no Elemental Mastery target for Vesna: EM is “decent” as a substat, “a bit worse than attack percent”, and his showcase Vesna runs with 0 EM. There is no cap or threshold in her kit tied to EM either.

Her own EM comes from Truth Prevails: 25 EM for every party member who is not Cryo or Anemo, against 6% ATK for every Cryo or Anemo one. Zy0x calls the EM side “a bit worse than the attack”, and in her usual teams Vodyanitsa is the only non-Cryo, non-Anemo slot. Her fourth Constellation triples both numbers, to 18% ATK and 75 EM.
Where EM does matter is the main stats. Zy0x says an EM sands or goblet can beat the ATK% one if its substats are much better, because “the gap between attack and EM isn’t that big”. ATK% stays the default for both. One stat he rules out entirely: an Anemo DMG goblet, which “won’t increase your stellar swirl damage”.
Zy0x’s own Vesna: Exaiphanes Blade and a Fearless clear
Zy0x’s showcase clears the Fearless difficulty of the Stygian Onslaught with a C0 Vesna holding Exaiphanes Blade, not her signature, to show the build works on a stat stick. The party is Vesna, Vodyanitsa on Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, Odette and a C6 Faruzan, with every 5-star at C0.

The sword on screen is Exaiphanes Blade at refinement 3, the stat stick the chart scores at 99%. With Scarlet Proof and two talents crowned, he says the build overcaps CRIT Rate and has “room for improvement”, and it still clears. He notes he cleared the harder Dire difficulty on stream, with signature weapons.

That is the most useful lesson in the weapon chapter. The site’s tier list has Vesna at T0 among on-field characters at C0, and the gap between a free Emberwell and most 5-star swords is under ten percent. Pick the best CRIT sword you already own and spend the resin on Scarlet Proof. Zy0x’s priorities point the same way: he calls Odette “a big damage increase” and “highly recommend[s]” her, while the signature “isn’t one that you absolutely need”.

Everything else lives elsewhere on the site. The full build, with artifact sets, main stats, talent priority and materials, is on the Vesna build page. The team line-ups, including the free one with Qiqi and the Cryo Traveler, are on best Vesna teams. The signature’s full refinement text is on its weapon page.
